Rock the Vote with Candy

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Our first weekend of ‘Rock the Vote’ successfully over. We survived the stress, the tight schedule, the cram, the opinion of a lot of people… Most of all we survived and had fun.

I love doing shows. I love performing. I love the sound of laughter. That is the only thing that I can really widely contribute and alleviate the everyday stress people….

Thank God for such a gift. Yes, I would call it a gift. Something given and handed by the creator. A gift should be used wisely and shared.

What can be more fun than working, performing with friends…

(Sweet) John Lapus is the closest to me amongst the cast. We have gone a long way back from college. Though we studied from different universities. I am UP Diliman while he is from UST. Twist of fate pulled us to stick together through a common friend, now director Andoy Ranay, who then joined Dulaang UP. Then I was introduced to Sweet, who by the way is really sweet…. But with an energy as strong as an eruption. My energy with his energy equals to mega energy, mega fun, mega bonding…. The rest is History.

Funny, how we wished that we had more than what we had during those days so that we could often go out on gimmicks.

Times do change. Ages do matter. Now, priorities have changed. Sleep is important. Responsibilities have become bigger. No regrets.

Jon Santos and I became close during Ispup days. Ispup aired for 4years on television and we shared 1 dressing room. I am a neat freak. O.C., some say I am. But Jon Santos is really an O.C.. Panics all the time and has this past time of worrying. Amazing. That’s Jon Santos. The perfectionist but again very sweet, generous person that I have met.

Now there’s Andres de Real, our director who was 1 of my directors along with Floy Quintos with my 1st Music Museum show back to back with Philip Lazaro, now our co-director…. Amazing!

One shoot at Manila I was told that my scene was going to be shot at 3am. gosh! Am I too early for that call… Already in the area, I decided to go to Malate. There i met Mamu, as he is fondly called by everyone. He found me really funny… Same night I met Phillip Lazaro,we planned a show and gave birth to KSP, kendi saka Phillip. KSP because we were both new and wanted some break and attention. all sketches revolved in new comers. After which our friendship intertwined with Days with the Lord… Again the rest is history…

Chocoleit which I got to know through Eugene Domingo and had a chance to work with our shows abroad.

Pooh whom I am working for the 1st time is awesome.

Ms. Tessie Tomas will be joining us next weekend…

So what’s this blog all about? Where’s the thing about ‘Rock the Vote’? I really don’t know. I’m not in the mood to write about it. Besides that would make me really biased since i am part of the show. I

I just realized my friends and I have gone a long way.  I am happy. I am awed with my blog revelation.

Indeed, God makes us meet people that He knows is part of His bigger plan for us.

The show? It was a blast! It’s hilarious! Whoever is reading this now…Believe me when i say you have to watch it… It’s worth the time, effort, and money…

Rock the Vote still showing on music museum on April 20 and 21.

Ciao!
